"Dad, you were always ready to protect, defend, and come to the aid of his family and friends who became family. There was never an end to what you would do for all of us. " "Our coffee & sausage roll river chat catch ups are some of the best times of my life. I will meet you at our bench soon, Dad, and continue to share my highs, lows, and everything in between. I miss you"

To the bestest Grandad in all the world. I will forever be proud of you and all you did, and so very thankful that I got to share time and space with you for my whole life. I have, and always will, love you to the moon and back. Thank you for everything. Love-u-4-ever. Bethany and Scooby

I first met Alf in the Newnan, in the SMQ and we connected from then on. Alf, myself and other guys used to go bush to pass time whenever there were strikes, of which there were many. I learned a lot from Alf, where not to walk in bushland etc. Wittenoom were 2 stand outs. Reluctantly returning to the UK, I managed several trips back to Newman, Perth & Armadale. 11 Friar Road was like a second home to me and from there we did several trips, one to Albany for the best fish & chips! Serpentine Damn and York are also great memories. At this deeply sad time, I share these thoughts of Alf, Edna and the family. Real friends never part, whether ten miles away, or ten thousand miles apart. To Alf, Edna and all at 11 Friar Rd, those memories will last with me til my time comes To Alf, Goodnight, God bless, Safe journey home son. Cheers Alf , "Thanks Mate" Mal
