Jim, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on 4th August 2024. He was 85 years old.
Born on 7th October 1938 in Edinburgh, Jim lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication. He is remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
Jim was a devoted husband to wife, Moira, and a loving father to Fiona and Shirley. He took great pride in being a grandfather to Emily and Patrick, always cherishing their moments spent together. Through his love of dogs, Jim was also designated chief treat giver to Shaza.
Jim worked as carpenter after completing military service in the logistics core, where he was respected for his work ethic and integrity. In his free time, Jim enjoyed Militaria, and he was always eager to share his passions with those around him. Jim was particularly fond of driving limousines and provided those services to the region’s elite, rich and famous.
Family and Friends will remember him as a beacon of strength and kindness, whose warmth and humour brought joy to all who knew him. Jim touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience.
Moira’s courage and determination when facing Jim’s illness was nothing short of inspirational. Together they fought that battle like every other faced, with grace, dignity and that indomitable Scottish spirit, to the end.
We are all honoured to have known such a wonderful person as Jim, whose presence in our lives brought immense joy and love. Jim’s kindness and compassion touched the hearts of everyone around him, leaving a lasting impact that will be cherished forever. While the pain of losing Jim is profound, let us find comfort in the memories we shared, and the legacy left behind.
Jim, you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
