Hi Dad, It's been a month since you left us. Sometimes it doesn't seem real but we still miss you every day. I miss your jokes, your laugh, your DIY advice, your cooking tips and your "hi Steph". I will miss all the family dinners and holidays together and sharing the latest coins with you. I never imagined this day would come so soon. I will always cherish memories of our carefully packed lunches, flower shaped carrots, being welcomed at any hour, tools for any DIY job and your trademark noodles. Thanks for being our Dad and teaching us so much. Until the day we meet again, I love you Dad. إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

Hi dad, It’s been about a month since you’ve been gone, left us with a hole through which we must make ourselves move on. It’s sad to think of you but we can’t bear to stop, because we never want to come to the point where we say we forgot, The sound of your voice, your laugh and your ways; the taste of your food, the warmth of your hand, your gaze. I’ll miss that hand I’d take up when I walked by your side; gnarly and calloused, large and dry. It always reminded me of how much you do, in quiet love, strong and serving, steady and true. With your shelter gone, the world’s a little more scary; I have to face the future now a little more wary. I’ll miss you on silent mornings when your music used to sound, when I notice the trees in the front yard are no longer round. I’ll miss you at the mealtimes both arguing and laughing with me and mum, time we could have had together, at home, on trips, in quiet or fun. There are tears now, and for a while it’s going to be hard, as for an unknown time we are going to be apart, But I hold on to a hope and an expectation, that we shall one day be reunited in a heavenly destination. So I’ll keep working on someday meeting you there, keeping in touch through God and my prayers. You, I trust, will watch over us here with a smile from above, knowing that even now, you are greatly loved. Thank you for the many years of love and care, dad. I’ll always love you and miss you.
