I only met you and your wife recently at Lakeside- but warmed to the love you shared with each other, and the kind and humorous soul I could see you were. May you rest in peace.
My heartfelt sympathies to your beautiful wife xx

I always knew you as ‘Bob’, Robert. We first met 42 years ago when Bob was living in City Beach. We just ‘clicked’ and from that day, I always referred to you as ‘my best friend.’ We were coming to visit you Bob, knowing it would be the last time. We were at Brisbane Airport when the message came through from Lynne. Not unexpected, but still a shock. You were my friend, my confidante.you helped me through some very hard times back then.
I will miss you so much Bob, but glad you are at peace now.
Love Robin

My dearest Lynne, there are no words for the sadness I feel today. I wish I could be there with you all to celebrate the incredible amazing person Robert was (and what a pain in the **** he could be) Robert really did change my life in so many ways the day he dragged me out in the water at Pinkies. Over the last 5 years of my battle with life the times with Robert and Bill always bring a smile to my face and sun shine to my day (even when they did argue about politics and shopping trolleys) …
Robert thank you for being the kind understanding pain in the **** you were to me I will never forget you 💚

Sincere condolences to Lynne, Nicole, Mandy, Grandkids, family and friends
From his Queensland outlaws.
May Robert now "Sprint" freely and have as many adventures up there as he did here.
He will be greatly missed by us all.
We will all have a "Red Ned" for him today.
Thanks for the many memories.

In loving memory of Robert from the Hardy Family, Belfast and London

Our deepest sympathies to Lynne, Amanda and Nicole and the wider family circle.
Robert was kind, friendly and gregarious, and had a strong sense of community which he served very well.
He was very proud of Western Australia and enjoyed showing it off to us when we visited. Needless to say, we always enjoyed his company and sense of humour.
We will sadly miss you.

In the words of Percy French, the Irish poet and songwriter

Farewell my old friend when we find you
In garments celestial clad
We will gather around and remind you
Of all the great times we have had

My deepest condolences to Lynne, Nicole & Amanda. The right words escape me, so let me simply share the poem below & say for Robert, it was an honour to have "Clog'd Up The Jetty" with you, at your last Busso Jetty swim.

Wisps on the Water (a poem by Robert Longley)
A touch of wind, a gentle breeze, a cooling touch, that's sure to please.
Patterns emerging, the ripples they race, and then disappear, as they fade into space.
Small gentle wavelets, embracing the shore, just like they've done, so many ages before.
These are the constants, of water and air, stop and enjoy them, as long as you're there.
